About the Role:

Microsoft’s Windows Silicon & System Integration (WSSI) team, part of the Windows & Devices (W+D) division, is looking for a Software Engineer to contribute to validating and benchmarking breakthrough technologies across the Windows ecosystem for cutting-edge silicon. In this role, you will work on end-to-end integration, performance analysis, and optimization to deliver top-tier devices and experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Validate and benchmark advanced technology features for Windows on cutting-edge silicon platforms.
  • Work on systems, operating system kernels, and device driver development.
  • Apply problem-solving and debugging skills to multiprocessor systems.
  • Use performance profiling and log analysis to understand and improve system behavior.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver solutions across multiple architectures.
  • Write and debug code while leveraging diagnostics tools.
  • Quickly ramp up on complex or unfamiliar codebases.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Adapt work plans as needed in a rapidly evolving environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong experience in coding with C and C++.
  • Systems, operating system, kernel, or device driver domain expertise.

Preferred:

  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills for multiprocessor systems.
  • Experience with performance profiling and log analysis.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to unfamiliar codebases.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and adjust work in dynamic environments.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams across architectures and product generations.
